WHAT IS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT?

The Bucks County Quality Child Care Coalition is a group of individuals and groups committed to supporting quality early care and education for ALL young children in Bucks County.  More than 300 people  have volunteered during the past year to increase awareness of the importance of quality early education.

These individuals serve on the QCCC Board of Directors, participate in a variety of work groups, take part in the Annual Advocacy Breakfast sponsored by the Bucks County Association for the Education of Young Children, communicate with legislators about the value of quality early childhood education, and more.

A grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning provides funding for community engagement.  QCCC, a private non-profit organization, has been the grant holder since 2000.  QCCC also receives state funding through the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children and the Southeast Regional Key to provide professional development for early educators.

The Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 and United Way of Bucks County serve as our lead agencies, providing financial management, office space, and technical support.

Whether you are a parent, teacher, physician or caregiver, we all have a vested interest in ensuring that all our children have access to quality learning opportunities that prepare them for success both in school and in life.

We publish a Report Card 2-3 times a year.  To view our most recent edition, click here.
